Is It Time To Change Up Your Look?*

Sometimes a change of look can be just what you need to motivate yourself or to boost your confidence. There are so many different ways in which you can change your look. Below are just a few simple ways in which you can reinvent your look.

Do something new with your hair
Doing something new with your hair can be a simple and striking way to change up your look. But just how should you transform your hair?

Cutting or dying your hair can be the two most drastic ways. In either case there’s no way of going back if you don’t like the results (other than wearing a wig or waiting for your hair to grow back/return to its natural colour), so you need to be ready to commit to either look. If you want to cut or dye your hair but are unsure how you’ll look, you may be able to use an app to virtually test out a hairstyle first.

Alternatively, you may be able to straighten/curl your hair or try wearing it up or down. This can have just as much of a dramatic impact while being much easier to undo if you don’t like the results. You could even check out this post for a few tips on making your hair look shorter without cutting it.

Switch up your makeup
A change of makeup could be another way to transform your look. If you’re usually quite heavy with your makeup, you could try experimenting with less cosmetics or adopting more nude tones. Alternatively, you could try stepping up your makeup routine if you tend not to use a lot of makeup. You could also try using different colours and textures (for instance, with lippy you could try switching from cream to matte)
Embrace new clothing colours
Different colours of clothing can affect the way we are perceived and affect our mood. If you tend to dress largely in neutral colours, try experimenting with different colours to explore new auras.
For instance, you could try dressing in more blues and greens. Such colours could make you and others around you feel calmer. Reds and oranges meanwhile are much more energising - if you want to come across livelier, more persuasive or sexier, these are often the colours to try.
Find a new signature item of clothing
Many of us tend to regularly wear a certain item of clothing or type of accessory that can become part of our signature look. Consider whether you can transform your signature look by exploring new clothing items or accessories.
For instance, you could start wearing scarfs or hats or you could find a new favourite jacket. You could go shopping and try to find a new item, or you may find that you already have an item or accessory in your wardrobe that you’ve neglected up until now.
Try different specs
If you wear glasses, consider whether a new style of frames could transform your look. We naturally look at people’s faces when we speak to people and so new glasses can be something that many of us immediately notice. If you currently have a very basic pair, you could try treating yourself to more stylish frames such as the ones found at this link. Alternatively, you could try switching from rectangle frames to circular frames. You could even give contact lenses a go.
Get your nails done
Getting your nails done could be another way of changing up your look. Along with our face, our hands are a part of our body that often gets noticed. At the same time, it can be more subtle than a new hairstyle or change of makeup. You could get them professionally done at a salon or you could paint your nails yourself. You could even treat yourself to some fancy nail art if you want to make a statement.
Get a new tattoo/piercing
Another drastic way of changing up your look could be to get a new tattoo or a new piercing. As this is a permanent decision, it’s not something you want to do on a whim. However, if there’s a tattoo or a piercing that you’ve been wanting to get done for a while, now could be the time to do it if you’re ready for a change. Always use a professional when getting a tattoo or a piercing.
