Can Maternity Clothes Actually Look Cute?

Pregnancy does wild things to your body - and your perception of yourself too. Everyone seems to have an opinion on whether you are carrying low or high or whether you are showing early or hardly showing at all. But, despite the running commentary on how you body looks from everyone you know - and even some you don't - it can also feel super liberating to be pregnant. In my first pregnancy, I remember feeling so good about my body. I loved that my stomach was meant to be big rather than opting for clothes that hid that little bulge of lower belly pudge that my pre-pregnancy self felt super self-conscious about. I loved that my body had a function and it was doing something amazing. And, this time around, I feel much the same.

However, this time, I am a lot more determined to dress my pregnant body is clothes that make me feel just as confident. So, since I peed on a stick and found out I was carrying human life inside my stomach, I have spent a whole lot of time browsing online for the cutest maternity clothes money can buy - and adding up quite a sum in a few different online shopping baskets (I may need to take out a loan). Given my newfound dedication to maternity fashion, you guys can imagine how excited I was when Pink Blush got in touch and offered to gift me two items from their website. They are a US-based company but I can vouch for their super fast delivery service (can you believe I got these dresses in like 3 days after placing my order?!) and, more importantly, for the cuteness of the dresses. Guys, both of the dresses have pockets. Need I say anymore?

They combine all the comfort that you need as a preggo lady with the fashionable designs you want. It took me a fair while to narrow down my choices to just two items but, in the end, I went for these two dresses. Although they were closely contended with a cute pair of blue rinse ripped leg jeans and some adorable blouses.

I went for this first dress as the print is just so me. I love a dark floral print and the cut is gorgeous. It comes in just above the bump (empire line, I guess) and skims over your bump before ending just past your knees. It is quite fitted on the top with a slightly rounded neckline and the sleeves cover your upper arms. The upper part of the dress is double layered so there is no chance of any sheerness (no one needs to see my Bridget Jones bra) and, guys, I just love it. I will deffo be wearing this well into post-partum.

I chose the second dress as it is a little different to anything else I own. The striped pattern isn't something I usually opt for but, in this colour palette, I was really into it. And I absolutely adored the details on the sleeves and hemline. I feel like this dress is so fun and the colour is beautiful. But the best thing about this dress is the material. I don't what it is made from but it is so soft. It is literally like a dress made from clouds. I am obsessed.

So, to answer the question 'can maternity clothes actually look cute?', I wanna say a big, fat yes. Especially if you shop at Pink Blush.
