How To Totally Slay Wedding Season

The sun is out. The skies are blue. The first buds of spring are starting to bloom. Yes, guys, it is almost that time of year again - wedding season. But this year I won't be doing my usual mad dash into town to rifle through countless floral dresses that ultimately ends in me sobbing in the changing room using a baby pink bardot dress as a handkerchief.

But, this year, I have had a bit of a helping hand in the old wedding guest department. A helping hand in the shape of Angeleye Fashion (AKA the mothership for all things beautiful). They sent me out a couple of dresses from their wedding guest outfit range and I have to say that I am in love.

The first dress is a red polka dot number and it has quite a ruffly kinda hem (that is the exact term for it, I'm sure) which gives the skirt more volume. It has sleeves (yasss) and is midi length. And makes my potato body look like it has mega curves - complete win. But the best thing about this dress is that it has a hidden popper button on the cleavage area so you can choose to fasten that if you don't want to upstage the bride. I would go full Rizzo from Grease with this dress for the evening though. Unfasten that popper, whack on a leather jacket, and maybe even some heeled boots. Oh, and red lippy. That would look insane.

The second dress is much more of a classy affair and, I have to say, I almost collapsed when I saw this bad boy. What a beauty! The beadwork is insane and it fitted so well. My only issue was the length. My short self kept tripping over the maxi skirt (answering once and for all the question of why I wore a midi length wedding dress) and I may have flashed a few van drivers when it got windy. Other than my body maybe not being long and elegant enough for this high level gown, I would still stand by it and say it is incredible. I paired it with gold heels and a three tone gold necklace. If the reception was a little more casual though, you would pair it with a denim jacket and wedges - that would look so cute too.

What's your top tip for wedding season survival?
